INFOCUS 2023 Conference

It’s time for another INFOCUS conference September 27-29. ERP Suites will be on prem (get it?) with several team members, including three who will be presenting during the conference. From security to maintenance and a few things in between, our sessions cover a lot of crucial JDE ground.  

New EnterpriseOne SSO Options w/JWT 

Presented by ERP Suites Director of JDE Technology Frank Jordan, this presentation takes a close look at the options presented by JWT Single Sign-On. EnterpriseOne has provided multiple authentication features in the past. A newer option, using the JSON Web Token or JWT, is able to support a variety of identity management products that once required a proxy/gateway server for SSO. Here are a few of the questions you can expect to be answered:  

  • What makes the JSON Web Token, or JWT, so special?  
  • How does the JWT SSO process ensure maximum security between the user’s browser and the JD Edwards server?  
  • Why is JWT SSO any better than the customary E1 Default Login or LDAP?  
  • How do JWT SSO and JD Edwards work together?

EnterpriseOne Orchestrator Tech Tips   

Another presentation from Frank Jordan, this one focuses on EnterpriseOne Orchestration tips and tricks, as experienced from the technology perspective. Learn some of the architecture, configuration, and areas to pay attention to while implementing and troubleshooting orchestrations.  

One pro tip before the session? Go back and rationalize or revisit code you’ve done in advance of undertaking newer JD Edwards releases. About half of the code can now be done in Orchestration, streamlining the process and reducing both complexity and the chance for errors.

JDE Continuous Adoption – Security Edition  

This presentation, by director of JDE security with ERP Suites Brian Connor, focuses on consistent maintenance of security during every release. Oracle continues to add new security features with each release – are you taking advantage of those enhancements? In this session, you’ll learn more about those latest security features and how to use them to your advantage.

E1 Technology SIG Roundtable: Maintaining JDE 

Facilitated by ERP Suites CNC Diane Miller, this roundtable is for you if you’d like to join others who have System Administration, Security, or Development enhancement ideas to bring up for entry into the Quest Enhancement System – letting Oracle know what should be included in future releases of the E1 software. Even if you don’t have a specific enhancement to suggest, you can still join to ask questions and commune with colleagues who may have solutions or guidance for issues you face in your environment.

Catch a demonstration of building a basic orchestration and adding components to observe the process of configuring and mapping said orchestration from beginning to end. This is an introductory session for those beginning to work with the Orchestrator. A basic Orchestrator quick reference card for future orchestration builds is included.  

The Sequel: E1 Cloud Migration, Upgrade & Continued Optimization

The long-awaited continuation of the story from Blueprint 2023. Granite Construction was given a one-year notice to vacate their current data center. They decided to migrate E1 to AWS while simultaneously upgrading to JDE 23.
