As our team preps for INFOCUS 2024 and our presentations, we’re scoping out all the other presentations, and picking some we think are can’t-miss. We tried to stick to just five, but there are too many good ones this year. So, without further ado, here are the top 10 INFOCUS presentations we’re looking forward to this year and why.

Focusing on AI

AI is one of the fastest growing technologies in the world, with sectors across the spectrum adopting AI tools to assist with their day-to-day business operations. According to a report from the National Association of Manufacturers, 72% of surveyed manufacturers reported reduced costs and improved operational efficiency after deploying AI technology. Whether you’re in the manufacturing sector or not, there are many benefits that can come from integrating AI with your existing JD Edwards ERP system.

These sessions showcase how to harness JDE’s existing AI potential. In a live demo session with our customer Ford Meter Box (FMB), we demonstrate how we created a custom Oracle Digital Assistant (ODA) for FMB using existing EnterpriseOne infrastructure and capabilities. We’re particularly excited about this one because we’ll be demonstrating in real-time how the ODA works – trust us, you don’t want to miss it.

[Breaking] Discover how AI Agents can execute transactions in JD Edwards
Johan Teekens, Steltix
In today’s fast-paced business landscape, enterprises are constantly seeking ways to streamline processes and enhance user experience within their ERP systems. This abstract explores the integration of AI agents into JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (JDE) to facilitate transaction execution, thereby revolutionizing user support and operational efficiency. AI agents represent an innovative approach to augmenting user capabilities within ERP systems. By leveraging machine learning algorithms and natural language processing (NLP), these agents can understand user requests, interpret complex business rules, and execute transactions autonomously within the JDE environment.

To inspire audiences, we will showcase several practical use cases, including managing JD Edwards security by creating users and assigning roles, as well as managing items – creating, updating, and removing them. Additionally, we’ll demonstrate an example of a comprehensive AI-drive process.

Internet of Things

Adjacent to AI, you’ll find IoT. The Internet of Things continues to revolutionize industries, particularly the manufacturing/smart manufacturing sector.

Power Apps on JDE with IOT…Oh my!
Mark Laxdal, Federated Cooperatives Ltd.
Fed Coop has integrated IoT sensors to JDE and automated corrective and predictive actions to manage their capital assets. Will be do a live demo with Fed Coop IT director to demonstrate integration of IoT sensor to JDE using Orchestration.

Security Coverage

In July 2024, cybersecurity company Crowdstrike crashed, causing what is being called the most widespread information technology incident in history. While this crash was not directly related to a cybersecurity issue, its root cause stemmed from a security update. Once again, the necessity of securing sensitive data was brought to the forefront of conversation the business world over.

These sessions, selected by ERP Suites director of security Brian Connor, are all about   and data so your customers can operate business as usual without constantly looking over their digital shoulder.

Orchestrator, Can You Help Me Place This Call?

Orchestrator Studio continues to help JDE users automate, innovate and elevate their companies and processes, thanks to its powerful AIS and REST API. Allowing users to create and customize business processes and workflows without extensive coding, Orchestrator is like the human brain – there’s still a lot of potential to be tapped.

We have to toot our own horn here and promote this session from our very own director of technology, Frank Jordan. It’s one of the most popular sessions of any kind each year!

Orchestrator Tech Tips
Frank Jordan, ERP Suites
EnterpriseOne Orchestration tips and tricks experienced from the technology perspective. Learn some of the architecture: configuration and areas to pay attention to implementing and troubleshooting orchestrations. Significant updates/changes due to Release 23/24.

And here are some other Orchestrator-focused sessions Frank and the ERP Suites team are looking forward to.

Stateful Orchestrations Deep Dive
Aaron Johnson, Oracle America: Inc.
By now you have realized the “magic” behind JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Orchestrator: the fact that every orchestration is, in practice, an EnterpriseOne REST API. But REST APIs are typically “stateless”. They run, do their work, and finish. What about use cases in which a process has to pause in the middle for actions, approvals, or manual steps, and then start back up again where it left off? We now have a feature called “Stateful Orchestrations” to accommodate those scenarios. And here's an added bonus: a new “While” step in Orchestrator enables you loop over a dynamic condition.

Click Less, Build More: How Marek Automated Requisitions with Orchestrations
Sherin Kuriakose, Marek Brothers Systems, Inc.
Marek, a leading construction company based in Texas with a national footprint, has long been a JD Edwards organization. When Marek adopted a new requisition process, they wanted to avoid their users doing manual steps and hunting for information. That's where ERP Suites and their orchestration experts came to the rescue!

Prashanth Thimmavajjala, Oracle
In this session JD Edwards customers can learn how to use Orchestrator to call Oracle Cloud Infrastructure AI services and benefit from the AI capabilities that Oracle Cloud Infrastructure offers.
