You’re an expert in your field, handling your business with accuracy and efficiency. But when it comes to your JDE system, things like best security practices, server maintenance, and operating systems are not in your wheelhouse. You want an expert in that field, someone with years of experience and a skilled workforce to achieve your goals. You also want to know how much that will cost. We’ll break down the cost of using ERP Suitesas your JD Edwards managed services provider, what the ERP Suites team of experts offers, and why it matters for your bottom line.
Just as a refresher, we covered in an earlier blog why outsourcing your JD Edwards ERP system managed services could be the right call for your company. From Configurable Network Computing (CNC) administrators to up-to-date system refreshes, outsourcing your JD Edwards managed services is a smart idea. We go over lots of other details, too, like hosting, security, and database administration. It’s also important to note that as a JD Edwards user, it is advantageous in the long run to be utilizing the latest tools release. Every year, Oracle is putting out brand new releases to improve JD Edwards – and having an expert team handling your outsourced JD Edwards management means you’ll get the full value of your investment. .
The cost of managed services is primarily determined by how many hours you select for support. We customize our JDE managed services program to fit the needs of individual customers, and then price out the service based on the number of support hours you expect to use.
How many hours does an average JD Edwards Managed Services customer use?
In our current roster of customers utilizing ERP Suites as a JDE managed services provider, we have an average of 50 support hours per month, but overall, support hours selected range from as few as 10 hours per month to as many as 200 hours per month.
Because customers determine their hours on a highly individualized basis, they’re able to control their expenditure. Worth noting – the more hours you reserve, the less you’ll end up paying on a per-hour basis. Buying JDE managed service hours in bulk can get you more bang for your buck.
It happened: You selected too many JDE support hours.
Maybe a project you anticipated would require several additional support hours was executed without a hitch. Maybe there were no surprises at the end of the quarter. Maybe you just simply budgeted too many hours. Whatever the case is, we’ve got you covered. A certain number of unused JDE support hours can be carried over from month to month. (Bonus: these unused hours can often be applied to non-JDE support concerns.)
We know that you might find your needs changing from time to time. We’ll work with you when that happens, to ensure you don’t lose any value from our managed services provision. Maybe you have ongoing needs that make it hard to accurately project just exactly how many support hours you’ll need from us. Don’t sweat it: We also offer contracts that allow for unlimited support hours. That flexibility allows you to focus on taking care of your work, and for ERP Suites to focus on taking care of you.
Also worth noting: we offer unlimited CNC support packages as well (which have a fixed scope). Customers have provided positive feedback for this option, as it ensures they have a fixed spend every month for the complete management of the CNC environment.
There are a few other factors that impact the price. Say you need your tools code upgraded. That’s not terribly complex or time-consuming. Within the scope of the managed services contract, if you’ve selected enough support hours, or have selected the unlimited hours contract, that upgrade would be covered. Generally speaking, 24/7 support, installation and configuration, upgrades and optimization, routine maintenance and JD Edwards Clarity monitoring are all included in the managed services provider scope of work. But what if you need some other upgrades?
If you’re thinking you need a database refresh, or an operating system upgrade, that becomes a little more complex. We’d graduate your needs from a managed services scope to a separate project scope. Keep in mind that you’d need different resources for a project, and we execute the scope of the project under a separate statement of work.
We need to account for the age and complexity of the technology you’re utilizing. Older versions of JD Edwards, and configurations that are unusually complex (for example, you’re using a lot of automation, or you have significant integration requirements) are more difficult to support, and as a result, will be more costly.
With JD Edwards’ continuous innovation model, including the latest Release updates, we ensure your managed services are always cutting edge. If you’re planning for your company’s future, considering the scope of the latest Release's capabilities, or just need typical support hours, ERP Suites is ready to guide you. You can reach us right here and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible. ERP Suites can also help you estimate the number of support hours to help make an accurate contract. We look forward to helping your company succeed.
