How Much Will I Pay for JDE Managed Services?

You’re in the market for a managed services provider and of course, you want to know how much that will cost. We’re going to break down the cost of using ERP Suites for your JD Edwards managed services provider and what you get when you go with ERP Suites and our team of experts.

How do I know if I need Managed Services?

Just as a refresher, we covered in an earlier blog why outsourcing your JD Edwards managed services could be the right call for your company. We go over lots of details, but it really boils down to this: If you want industry experts from JD Edwards CNCs, refreshes, hosting, security analysis and more, you’ll want to outsource your JD Edwards management.

How much will Managed Services cost?

Overall, the cost is determined by how many hours you select for your project. We customize our JDE managed services program to fit the needs of individual customers, and then price out the service based on the number of support hours you expect to use.

How many hours does an average JD Edwards Managed Services customer use?

In our current roster of customers utilizing ERP Suites as a JDE managed services provider, we have an average of 50 support hours per month, but overall, support hours selected range from as few as 10 hours per month to as many as 200 hours per month.

Because customers determine their hours on a highly individualized basis, they’re able to control their expenditure. Worth noting – the more hours you reserve, the less you’ll end up paying on a per-hour basis. Buying in JDE managed service hours in bulk can get you more bang for your buck.

Can I carry over unused support hours?

It happened: You selected too many JDE support hours. Maybe a project you anticipated would require several additional support hours was executed without a hitch. Maybe there were no surprises at the end of the quarter. Maybe you just simply budgeted too many hours. Whatever the case is, we’ve got you covered. A certain number of unused JDE support hours can be carried over from month to month. (Bonus: these unused hours can often be applied to non-JDE support concerns.)

We know that you might find your needs changing from time to time. We’ll work with you when that happens, to ensure you don’t lose any value from our managed services provision. Maybe you have ongoing needs that make it hard to accurately project just exactly how many support hours you’ll need from us. Don’t sweat it: We also offer contracts that allow for unlimited support hours. That flexibility allows you to focus on taking care of your work, and for ERP Suites to focus on taking care of you.

Also worth noting: we offer unlimited CNC support packages as well (which have a fixed scope). Some customers have shared that they like that, as it ensures they have a fixed spend every month for the complete management of the CNC environment.

What else impacts the JDE Managed Services price?

There are a few other factors that impact the price. Say you need your tools code upgraded. That’s not terribly complex or time-consuming. Within the scope of the managed services contract, if you’ve selected enough support hours, or have selected the unlimited hours contract, that upgrade would be covered. Generally speaking, 24/7 support, installation and configuration, upgrades and optimization, routine maintenance and JD Edwards Clarity monitoring are all included in the managed services provider scope of work.

But what if you need some other upgrades?

If you’re thinking you need a database refresh, or an operating system upgrade, that becomes a little more complex. We’d graduate your needs from a managed services scope to a separate project scope. Keep in mind that you’d need different resources for a project, and we execute the scope of the project under a separate statement of work.

We need to account for the age and complexity of the technology you’re utilizing. Older versions of JD Edwards, and configurations that are unusually complex (for example, you’re using a lot of automation, or you have significant integration requirements) are more difficult to support, and as a result, will be more costly.
